Technique and Uses
A deep tissue massage treatment will begin with a gentle massage to warm up the muscles and connective tissues. Once the muscles are warmed up, I will target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissues and use firmer pressure, gliding strokes and friction to stretch and elongate the tissues. With the goal being to realign the muscle and connective tissue, I will begin to break-up any scar tissue and adhesion or “knots” I find. Based on your comfort level, I will gradually increase the pressure applied and you may find me using my forearms and elbows to manipulate the muscle and connective tissues. If at any point during treatment you feel discomfort, let me know, I will adjust my techniques and pressure to better suit your needs.
